Bakuchiol is chosen as a gentler alternative to a retinoid, so using both mostly adds irritation risk without a demonstrated additive benefit. If you are tolerating a retinoid well, bakuchiol has little to add; if you are not, it is the substitute.
Bakuchiol is gentler than a retinoid but it is not inert, and stacking it with an AHA in one routine is the usual route to irritation. Alternate nights rather than layering, particularly while your skin is still adjusting to either.
