BAM15 is a synthetic mitochondrial uncoupler — a protonophore. It is not a peptide, cosmetic or supplement; it is a research compound that appears in this register because the fat-loss and longevity gray market sells it (including in capsule "metabolic" blends), and people scan and search it.

Mechanism (as proposed)

Mitochondria normally pump protons across their inner membrane to build a gradient, then let those protons flow back through ATP synthase to capture energy as ATP. An uncoupler like BAM15 puts a hole in that scheme: it shuttles protons back across the membrane bypassing ATP synthase, so the energy is released as heat instead of stored. The cell burns more fuel to maintain the gradient, raising energy expenditure — which in rodents produces fat loss without reduced food intake. BAM15 is reported to have a wider safety margin than DNP (2,4-dinitrophenol), the classic uncoupler, in preclinical models. The mechanism is real and well characterised — but "wider margin than DNP in mice" is a low and dangerous bar.

Reading the evidence honestly, and the safety history

Two things have to be said plainly. First, the human evidence does not exist: there is no published controlled trial of BAM15 for efficacy or safety in people, so the striking rodent fat-loss data is exactly that — rodent data. Second, and more important, the class is dangerous. Mitochondrial uncouplers have a narrow therapeutic window, and the related drug DNP has caused deaths through uncontrolled hyperthermia and is banned for human consumption. Selling BAM15 as a casual "chemical fat loss" supplement (graded F) ignores that history.
